A circus epic set at the turn of the 19th century. The story centers on Pop Wonder, his daughter Kitty, his long-suffering fiancee of fourteen years, Lulu, and Sam Rawlins, the spy who comes to steal Pop's circus and falls in love with Kitty.

Based on the musical play produced by Billy Rose at the New York Hippodrome, book by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur. Originally produced as a motion picture in 1962.
