On a cold night in D.C., a homeless man takes shelter in a deserted three-story building. He's surprised and upset to find the shabby belongings and makeshift bedding of someone else. Before he gets the chance to meet this new intruder he smells gasoline. Within minutes the building bursts into flames. The building is gutted by the fire and investigators immediately see a resemblance to a string of fires that have occurred in the past week and within a thirty-mile radius.
