Based on the book series DEAR DUMB DIARIES, the film follows the exploits of middle schooler Jamie Kelly as she vents and comments on her life. Eleven-year old Jamie fills her diary with daydreams of her crush Hudson, and of banishing Angeline, the pretty, popular girl in school. Jamie hopes to win a contest at school, thinking she will impress Hudson and feel better about herself by beating Angeline. In the meantime, she somehow loses her diary.
