Stargate is an intergalactic gateway, developed by an ancient civilization, that links planets from other solar systems to ours. The US Air Force assembles a Stargate team headed by Colonel Jack O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) for interstellar peacekeeping. In "There but for the grace of God," Daniel Jackson finds himself on an alternate Earth that is being attacked by the Goa'uld. He sees that his own Earth is to meet the same fate unless ... In "Politics," Jackson warns of the coming Goa'uld invasion of Earth, but no one takes him seriously. The authorities decide to terminate the Stargate program. In "Within the serpent's grasp," the SG-1 team disobeys orders by transporting to Goa'uld headquarters to try to thwart the invasion. They find that the way back is blocked -- can humanity be saved?
