In 1868 Texas, Benjamin Shreve, a nineteen-year-old, gets embroiled in a grand adventure when he helps track a vanished stagecoach carrying a mysterious fortune. Among the passengers, he meets Nell, a pregnant woman fleeing her abusive husband, and her young son, Tot. Benjamin offers them passage to the Gulf of Mexico for safety. However, as secrets unfold, danger looms, and a cursed necklace complicates matters. Despite falling for Nell and caring for Tot, vengeful pursuers threaten their newfound bond.
